Middlesex Division 1, AOH,
originally chartered in 1887, the division was re established and
chartered in 1997 in South Amboy NJ. The organization was
able to acquire the old Library in town which is located on the corner
of Second St. and Steven's Ave. The building had formally
been a the Second Baptist church since the mid 19th century. The building still
retains the beautiful old stained glass windows and the steeple of its
former life. The members remodeled the building to
suite the needs of the Hibernians and the community. We offer
the use of our building to the community for weddings,
christenings and various other family and civic functions.
Catering is also available by the club's Bantry Bay Catering.
The First Treasurer was Col. David B. Kelly, the 7th Superintendent of
the New Jersey State Police and upon his passing, the Division adopted
his name in his honor.
In 2005 the Division instituted a marching Pipe
& Drum Band," Col D.B.Kelly Pipes & Drums", which is continuously growing in number and teaches
both pipers and drummers.

Middlesex Division 1 has become an intricate part of the community. We
pride ourselves on the philanthropy we established within the
church and our community. The Division also plays a vital roll
along with the South Amboy Parade Committee in the organization of the South Amboy
St. Patrick's Day Parade held on the Saturday prior to St. Patrick's
